Earth Voyager, the fastest sailing vessel on the Great Lakes, visited a dozen port cities to celebrate the role of the Great Lakes in our lives, and to raise awareness about the need and enormous economic benefits of protecting and restoring them.
Earth Voyager is a formula 60 trimaran, sixty feet long, 44 feet wide, and nearly 100 feet to the top of the sails. In an 8 knot wind (about 9 mph) she can do 18 knots (about 21 mph), and has been clocked at over 33 knots (nearly 40 mph)! She is truly a superstar and attracts crowds of admirers wherever she goes.
