We have been hearing about Linda Lou of Georgetown, a 197′ Lurrsen mega yacht on the marine radio. Reader Robert Binette observed Linda Lou on the St. Lawrence River in front of Lanoraie recently. The church in the background is of the Lanoraie village, 35 miles East of Montreal. Thanks for the photo, Robert! Diane Byrne has a post about Linda Lou including some great interior photos.

We all spent the afternoon and evening oogling at the beauty and magisty of the Linda Lou swinging quietly on its anchor line, in Lake St. Clair, near Grosse Pointe Yacht Club and the Edsel and Elenor B Ford home on shore, Saturday Saturday night and Sunday morning, Aug. 1st and 2nd. It was drawing MUCH attention in our waters! We dont see this kind of machinery floating our waters very often@

The Linda Lou passed under the Bluewater Bridges just after 18:00 on August 2nd, after being delayed by powerboat races in the St. Clair River by Mooretown and Courtright. The boat garnered lots of compliments from the many people gathered by the river in Point Edward. Interesting information about the yacht was printed in the Globe and Mail Saturday August 1st.

Linda Lou is currently anchored at the mouth of the Harbor Springs Harbor. They must not realize that even with their 11.5′ draft, they can come in much closer to town. lots of rumors as to who is chartering her.
August 12th, 2009 at 11:43 am
I met a few people in Mackinac who claimed it was their boat… all seemed unlikely. =)
August 12th, 2009 at 2:34 pm
Linda Lou just recently left the Harbor Springs Harbor. Wonder where they are headed?
August 12th, 2009 at 6:52 pm
Left the harbor? She’s still anchored there now. Did come a little further in though.
August 13th, 2009 at 11:16 am
We stayed on Mackinac Island at the Chippewa Hotel overlooking the Arnold dock. What a sight to behold as our room looked directly at Linda Lou. She left the harbor the same morning that we checked out – August 11th. To answer a previous question, a Linda Lou crew member said that she was heading to Chicago, with stops along the way. If you get a chance to see her up close and personal, by all means do. I stood twenty feet from her on the Arnold dock and was blown away by this yacht. She is truly a magnificent work of art.
August 13th, 2009 at 11:28 am
Saw Linda Lou heading out of Little Traverse Bay this morning. Great day to be on Lake Michigan!
August 13th, 2009 at 11:30 am
The Linda Lou just pulled into Charlevoix….BEAUTIFUL!!!
August 13th, 2009 at 7:54 pm
The Linda Lou is absolutely beautiful! Got to see her this morning at Round Lake here in Charlevoix. She is dwarfing every “big” yacht in the harbor
I thought Paradigm was massive when she was here a little while ago, but she’s nothing compared to Lind Lou.
August 15th, 2009 at 12:36 am
The Linda Lou left Charlevoix at 8am this morning. Amazing boat.

My husband and I were down at the lake Michigan on August 23. We spotted the Linda Lou in one of the rivers with two tanker trucks refueling her. She was huge and all the smaller boats were gathered around admiring her. She is beautiful.

Tuesday afternoon, August 25th and we spent it on Lake St. Clair off the Grosse Pointe Yacht Club anchored in about 18 feet of clear crispy water…. along came the Linda Lou, majestically plowing thru the 2 foot chop and waves coming directly at her bow…again, a beautiful sight. We saw her on her upward boung trip and then today we closed the book by seeing her “leave the building”. Thanks to it’s crew for making it thru our great lakes!
August 25th, 2009 at 7:43 pm
