We recently had a chance to review Classic Yachts by Francois Chevalier with forward by Gary Jobson and photos by Gilles Martin-Raget. It is a compilation of thorough information on restored classic wooden sailboats. This book was published by Abbeville Press in 2008, and it has magnificent photos. One of the highlights is that the photos are very large, some spanning 2 pages. Background information includes history and restoration information, so you can become easily familiar with the yachts. There are also line drawings of interior layout and deck plans.
With a good balance between photography and script, this book is a winner, and you will want this book on your coffee table. This 16″ wide book costs $75, but with the unbelievable photos (almost 300 full color plus many black and white drawings) and information, it is well worth every penny. This would be a wonderful gift for your favorite boater, sailing enthusiast or photographer.

I think you will enjoy it. It is even better seeing this book in person. Will have similar book review coming soon.
