Fire Boat

The Clayton Fire Boat is usually out in rare form for the fireworks and Antique Boat Show.

According to the Fire Department, “Last Chance”  is a 2003 MetalCraft 36′ Aluminum Hull, Crew of 8, Top Speed of 37 knots (42.5 mph), Twin Cummins 8.3 litre diesels(450hp each), Twin Hamilton 322 jet drives, 1500 gpm Darley fire pump, 6.5 kw generator.  Equipment on board is GPS, Chart Plotter, Radar, Depth Sounder,Marine, Fire, Law Enforcement & EMS Radios, Patient capacity of 4

The fire boat is out at different times in addition to responding to emergencies.

We enjoy seeing Last Chance during special events like the Fourth of July Fireworks.  Watching the fireworks is always a treasure.  They do them across the channel and we can sit on the back deck watching them.  Don’t have to go anywhere and worry about parking and crowds.
